It appears that Nokia are about to start selling the N70 in the US in a similar manner to how they first sold the N90. Nokia have admitted sending phones to bloggers, but the two gushing reviews I've seen so far don't seem to own up to this:
It looks like the N70 model will be the N70-5 which is much the same as the "standard" N70-1 except for the loss of 3G and the user facing camera. The GSM frequency ranges remain 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, so it won't be hugely useful for Cingular customers. If I was on Cingular I'd wait for the stonking N80 or E70.
